Hands and arms

Twenty minutes for tired hands

Warm, slow work on the hands, wrists, forearms and elbows, with light pressure and a warm towel.

Hands do the most work in a day, and they tell you about it in the morning. This visit gives them all of its time, while you sit comfortably and rest.

  • 20 minutes

  • Seated, in your own clothes

  • Light pressure and a warm towel

How the visit goes

  1. 01

    Step 1: Warming up

Your hands rest in a warm towel while you sit and settle.

  2. 02

    Step 2: A short talk

Which fingers or joints are sore today, and what to leave alone.

  3. 03

    Step 3: The work

Slow strokes over the fingers, palms, wrists, forearms and elbows, with a check-in as she goes.

  4. 04

    Step 4: A last minute

A moment to sit with your hands in your lap before you stand.

What to know before you come

  • Seated and clothed

You sit at a table or in a chair with your sleeves pushed up. Nothing else comes off.

  • Light pressure

Gentle by design, and lighter whenever you ask.

  • Ask your doctor first

With new swelling, numbness, or a recent injury to the hand or arm, ask your doctor before you book.

  • Add it to another visit

Add hands and arms to a seated or table visit as added time.

    Pearline Boswell

    Owner and licensed massage therapist

    • Massage therapist license · PA Lic. 000000

Pearline is a licensed massage therapist in Pennsylvania who has worked with older adults for most of her career, first in a retirement community and now in her own room in Lititz. She is the only therapist, so you see the same person every visit. She works Tuesday to Saturday, speaks English, and will meet you at the door and see you to your chair.

Questions about this session

What does the visit feel like?

Warm and unhurried: your hands rest in a warm towel and the pressure stays light. It is a massage, not a treatment, and Pearline does not diagnose.

Can I do this with a visit for two?

Yes. Each of you can have hands and arms as your short session, one after the other.

Do I take off my rings?

If they are comfortable, they can stay on, and Pearline works around them. You can take them off if they are tight.
